Our ceremonial grade Okumidori matcha offers a moment of mindfulness - from preparation to your first sip. Now available in 100g pouches.
Sourced from a seventh-generation family farm in Kyoto, Japan, this this first-harvest, single-cultivar Okumidori matcha is stone-milled in small batches to ensure maximum freshness, flavour, and quality.
In Japanese, Okumidori translates to “deep green” (Oku = deep, Midori = green). It's a fitting name for this vibrant, full-bodied matcha. As a single-cultivar tea, it’s made entirely from one tea varietal, cultivated to highlight its distinct flavour and character.
Tasting Notes: Smooth and buttery, with subtle notes of almond, lightly steamed greens, and a delicate floral finish.
Why You’ll Love It: A balanced umami taste and calming energy, perfect for your morning ritual or mindful afternoon pause. Its rich hue, soft nuttiness, and gentle sweetness create the perfect stand-alone cup.

Benefits
Sustained energy + alternative source of caffeine

Calm Focus
- L-theanine; an amino acid in matcha, promotes relaxation while enhancing mental clarity and focus - making it ideal for mindfulness practices!
Rich in Antioxidants
- Matcha is packed with catechins, particularly EGCG, which supports the body in fighting free radicals and maintaining overall wellness.**
Supports Digestion
- The natural chlorophyll found in matcha can assist in gentle detoxification and promote gut health.
Promotes Mindful Rituals
- Matcha’s preparation invites a moment of calm and reflection. Rooted in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, this practice embodies mindfulness, intentionality and simplicity.
*Please note: Caffeine found in matcha is a gentler source of caffeine than coffee due to the presence of the L-theanine, however, moderation is advised.

Preparation
Preparation
1. Scoop 2g (about 1 tsp) of matcha powder into your vessel or matcha bowl, known as a chawan, using a chashaku or a standard teaspoon (this equates to around 2 heaped scoopings of the chashaku). Sift your matcha using a sieve.
2. Soak your whisk briefly in hot water to soften the tines (the bristles).
3. Add about a tablespoon of the hot water (~80°C) to the matcha and whisk to form a paste.
4. Pour in the remainder of the hot water (70-100ml) and with a gentle yet swift wrist movement, whisk in a “W” or zig-zag motion until you have a thick, foamy matcha.
5. Sip and enjoy as is, right out of the matcha bowl. Other ways to savour it include serving it over steamed milk of choice or as an iced matcha latte.
